Extraordinary, intuitive, and a blessing, Kim L. Burke, a DC native, is the proud mother of two, a recruiter and an entrepreneur. Kim is a trailblazer, a representative for breaking barriers with an ambitious heart and a focused mind. She began her recruiting career in 1999 with Adecco Employment Service and in 2000 she attended the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) to earn her HR certification. She launched her first business in October 2003 in Washington, DC, named AgentHR of Washington, DC, which was a recruiting company focusing on Education, Property Management and entry level placements in the DC, MD, and VA area.

Not only did she recruit and build up a very impressive clientele; she took it a step further! Kim totally engaged herself within her community and neighboring ones, speaking to youth, women, and ex-offenders who were interested in getting into the job market. She educated as many as she could and employed most! She enjoy shaping the young minds of growing entrepreneurs like students enrolled at Marriott Public Charter High school and laying a foundation to young adults trying to make a change in the Job Corp Young Adult programs. One of Kim’s mottos is, “The more you know, the further you’ll go!™” She has set forth to reach and teach everyone who is willing to learn how to be a young professional with a goal and a plan.

Incorporated in 2007, Kim became the proud owner of The Burke Learning Center, an educational home for student support. The Burke Learning Center was a gift to her two children and honors her Mother, Ms. Debra C. Burke. TBLC is a place where all kids can get the assistance and encouragement they need in all subjects from experienced certified teachers and professionals. Kim’s goal is to help as many children, adults and families to see their potential, reach their goals and to recognize the path that GOD has laid out for them.

The finesse that Kim possesses is enhanced by her axiom; “Strive for excellence and excellence shall thrive through you.™” Using her own words for inspiration and growth, Kim has taken business to another level. Founder and President of the Raleigh African-American Chamber of Commerce, this petite powerhouse has a God-given business sense that is persistently driving her success. Kim’s strong beliefs about the power and importance of small businesses, particularly those run by fellow African-Americans has reinforced her stance that they are serious players in their local business community.

As President and CEO, Kim’s perpetual objective is to create, build and invest. It is also important to develop new ideas and concepts that will support new and old business owners, build new working relationships to establish networking amongst entrepreneurs to provide resilient support, and invest time, effort, and heart in the RAACC in order to diligently face any challenges and sustain success.

It is her firm covenant to continue to exhort her passion for business and the success of all African-American businesses alike. To assure time-honored and future patrons the parity of good business practices, and to always remain steadfast on the vision and mission without compromising the goal.
